The Emergence of Cryptocurrency
Cryptocurrency first appeared in 2009. Bitcoin, created by a person alias Satoshi Nakamoto, is the first decentralized cryptocurrency. Nakamoto wanted to create something other than classical payment methods, and developed a protocol called blockchain, which prevents the control of money by central banks and is completely under our control, which is not affiliated with any institution or organization.
After Bitcoin, more than 9000 altcoins (cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin) have been created by March 2021.
The Emergence of Altcoins
Altcoins that emerged after Bitcoin have grown in popularity over time. The first altcoin, Namecoin, appeared on April 18, 2011.
Namecoin is followed by Litecoin, which emerged on October 13, 2011. Ripple, which emerged in 2012. Dash, which appeared in 2014. Ethereum, which appeared on July 30, 2015.
